Big4 Ballarat Windmill Holiday Park

Pet Friendly cabin was lovely seems fairly new and smelt very clean - coming into a warm cabin was lovely as the heater was on. The king bed was rock hard and so uncomfortable to sleep on in the main room with the bunk beds VERY noisy and the top rails very dangerous - not secured and on a 45 degree angle in the 2nd room. Lollie wrappers under bunk. Bathroom gels provided - one was filled with water or cleaners didn’t check. The floor appeared to be not wiped out with previous animal hair bow on floor and general hair. If your looking for pet friendly - I give this big 4 a 10/10 for accommodating pets in cabins and the caravan sites looked amazing!

Bed was to firm for us but the park was great we had a pet cabin which was great separate area to put your pet outside that is safe from other pets plus gave you time to unload your bags before you let your pet inside the cabin.pets not aloud on beds which is reasonably.

Firstly, the staff were so warm, friendly and accomodating, in particular Dylan. We stayed in a 3 br cabin, and it was spacious and had everything we could want for 3 adults and 2 children. We even seemed to have a back yard to our cabin, and kids loved playing there. But plenty of choices for kids fun with a great playground, jumping pillow, indoor rec room with ping pong, foozball and computer games, another interactive covered space for kids fun, and of course an indoor pool, so great fun for all. We will definitely be back and recommend this for families. Oh...and there are chickens that the children can see and feed too!

The staff were amazing, polite and very helpful, the shower was amazing but the floor (which was supposed to be white was brown ) it was disgusting and I wish I had the time to clean just one ***** in the middle 🤢 lots of mossies too so take your mossie spray

While I can't fault the customer service, the accomodation is beyond tired and overpriced for something so run down. The bed was like cardboard, with very thin blankets. Linen in not supplied for bunk beds even though you'll pay extra to use them - I'm not sure what the extra payment actually covers given there are no extra towels or linen provided. The couch in the room was filthy, as was the carpet. Thankfully we were travelling with our own crockery and cutlery so didn't have to use too many things in the cabin.

Awesome pet friendly park, with lots to do on the property, pool, gym , games room , playgrounds and a fenced dog pond which was amazing! Loved camping with our dogs with the comfort of fully fenced block for pets to roam. Receptionist was a little flat more like a robot, but overall amazing and clean place ! Will stay again!

Paradise for pet owners! true-blue Aussi family-owned business, Mark the owner and his family runs an amazing operation. They want the guests to enjoy the park and always ready to assist customers, I have never seen anyone so confident in helping guests to reverse - park the caravans. Entire powered sites with fully secure dog encloser! separate area for Caravanner's with Dogs! To BIG 4 management - BIG 4 Windmill Park could be a polit program for BIG 4, how you can accommodate dogs and children!!

Great caravan park with great amenities. Love the trees and bush like setting. Kids loved using the go carts and the indoor pool was huge! We stayed in the swagman cabin. It is on the smaller side which we were told about when enquiring but I feel it was priced accordingly. The only things I would prefer is if bedding was supplied for bunk beds in the price.

The beds were hard as a rock and caused me pain. I hardly slept. There were no spare blankets but the queen bed had electric which was needed at the time we were there. Despite this, this holiday park is ideally located if you are a birder and/or enjoy nature as it is right beside the Wallamullah Wetland (Lake Winter) where there are a variety of birds. Another plus is its location which is not far from some pubs for dinner, and a short drive to Lake Wendouree & Botanic Gardens or Lake Burrumbeet, another birding hotspot. Unfortunately, while we were there the weather was terrible - wet and cold and often windy but going there in better weather would be much nicer. It was a shame that they were burning off for much of the time we were there so the smoke was drifting over the wetland making it hazy and unpleasant smelling. Perhaps next time, they could hire a mulcher to break down the branches etc, and use it as mulch which would be much more eco-friendly. It looks like it could be a great holiday park with activities for the kids, an indoor pool, communal areas, and a gym so we were hoping that perhaps they were on a big improvement program and we were there at a bad time. Still, uncomfortable beds mean we won't be going back and I am sure many others would feel the same, especially if they are getting on in years and already have joint pain. My hope is that they take this review as helpful criticism so they can improve in the areas mentioned. If they do that, they will have an excellent holiday park. Lovely staff who were very helpful.
